Made in 1885, a handwritten document accompanying it indicates it was made for Mrs. Sallie Seilhamer of Lancaster, PA by an inmate of the prison there. Her father George ministered to the prisoners and Sallie played the organ. The document goes on to say includes 266 pieces of inlay. The frontice piece inlaid with "Sallie". That compartment with a lift lid to access the interior. The back fitted with a tall frame supporting a swing mirror. Statement says "Mr. Gardiner was a trooper in my regiment: he was discharged as excellent" "He did his duty well and faithfully, I cordially commend him for a commission". The document has other stamps and dates from the Adjutant Gen's office. The document is a three fold piece.
