Top has right half with carved and painted blossoming flowers and leaves. Colored in silver, yellow, and gold. Incised signed "Max Kuehne". Max Kuehne created a selection of this type of furniture as well as being a well known artist. PROV: From a Miami estate. SIZE: 15 1/4" h x 51" w x 20" deep. Set consists of mirror back sideboard, double door china cabinet, table with four leaves and eight side chairs. 1) Two part mirror back sideboard has deep foliate carving to crest and front of sideboard. Shaped and carved shelf at center of shaped mirror. Base outrageously carved with center bow section having two drawers over two doors flanked on each side with one serpentine drawer over serpentine door. Eight large carved feet. SIZE: 93" h x 77" w x 28" d. 2) Matching double door china cabinet with shaped doors and carved frame. Large central carved crest, mirrored back in five panels. Four shaped shelves. NOTE: These magnificent chairs are not original to the set but were handcrafted after the original chair that was in the set. Mulhaupt work done by the Northshore Art Association and Vose Galleries page 49. In what appears to be its original frame, back of board in pencil "The pool, morning" Fred'K J. Mulhaupt 57 E. 59th St. N.Y. Scene shows six nude bathers in tidal pool with rocks surrounding. Clothes are stacked on rocks, two bathers in water and four on rocks. 798. SUPERB GORHAM STERLING TROPHY FOR THE KENNEBEC YACHT CLUB. This outstanding art nouveau trophy is made by the Gorham Silver Manufacturing Co. It has mounted clover handles and engraved and repossed panels on either side. One side inscribed "Kennebec Yacht Club The Vice Commodore Cup 1906". Also with crossed flags. The reverse panel having a wonderful relief and engraved scene featuring an early racing boat with figures dashing out across the harbor and inscribed "Presented by Vice Commodore J. R. Andrews". The cup, with gold wash interior and simulated hammered design. SIZE: Approx. 7 1/4" h x 9" w between handles. CONDITION: Generally excellent. 9-79475 (4,000-6,000)

799. FINE EARLY SILVER BICYCLE TROPHY. This very elaborate European silver lidded cup has ornate repousse and blown out work along the base as well as a similarly blown out lid. On top is mounted a standing bicycle man with his bicycle at his side holding a wreath. The lid inscribed "Wanderpreis". The side of the cup inscribed "Fur Hervurragende Leistung". The silver unmarked and believed to be plated. SIZE: Approx. 10" h. CONDITION: Silver is tarnished and worn but structurally appears to be good. 9-79471 (2,500-3,000)

800. GOOD CARVED BLACK FOREST HALL RACK WITH MIRROR AND UMBRELLA HOLDER. Large half size black bear climbs post with cub at feet. Great carving to head with open mouth and teeth. Post holds oval beveled edge mirror with carved branch like hooks. Top crest has two bears climbing on tree. A good old example. Best we have had in many years. SIZE: 104"h. CONDITION: There are some repairs and umbrella ring needs reattaching but generally in good condition with great dark patina. 9-79820 (6,000-8,000)

801. WONDERFUL PAIR OF DETAIL BRONZE RUSTIC BEARS. This offering consists of a pair of identical modeled bronze standing bears. The figures are flat with fine detailed face and hair. Apparently made for ornamentation in front of a large fireplace and supposedly originally came from a lodge in the Adirondacks. Each of the bears were mounted in stones and there appears to be no foundry mark. SIZE: Bears alone are approx. 14 1/2" h. CONDITION: Excellent. 9-79821 (2,000-2,500)

802. FINE RECAST SCULPTURE IN SILVER OF "BRONCO BUSTER" BY FREDERIC REMINGTON. Sculpture sets atop a black and green marble plinth. On side of silver base "Cast Silver-No. 3 of 50". This is a casting after the original done by the Ogdensville, N.Y. Museum and sold by the museum to benefit the Museum's Fund. Silver content is .20. SIZE: Casting is 22"h, base 9 1/2"h. 803. SIGNED FREDERICK REMINGTON OIL ON PANEL. This wonderful small painting depicts long horned cattle in the foreground with horse drawn wagons filled with hay in background and center and in distance a covered wagon or two with a figure and horses. It is signed in the lower left corner "Frederick Remington" in red. Painting is very nicely done and painted on wood panel. Framed in a deep contemporary frame with natural feathered wood and a subdued gold liner. SIZE: 5 1/2" h x 12" w. OVERALL SIZE: 14 1/2" h x 21 1/2" w. 804. LARGE OIL ON CANVAS OF PLAINS INDIAN BY ART SARNOFF. This painting is a terrific rendition of a Seven Plains Indian on a small rise sending smoke signals. His decorated white pony with a shield is tethered nearby with his lance. Signed in the lower right corner "Art Sarnoff". Sarnoff was an internationally recognized painter who studied with Andrew Riley, Ed Oppenheimer, and noted Western artist John Clymer. He did numerous portraits in his lifetime including John & Jackie Kennedy and was very proficient as an illustrator of sporting events and created a number of paintings for illustrations depicting the West Indians, Cowboys, etc. Illustrations appears in the Saturday Evening Post, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Colliers, Redbook, McCall's, Esquire, American, Corlnet, etc. An old printed brochure accompanies this lot.
