All in matching silver-plated holders; the standards all marked "B & Co.". The inserts are in a D.Q. pattern and shade from ruby through fuschia. We cannot find a listing for the maker, but feel that the glass is probably New England. This is the largest of the form and the color is the most intense we have ever seen. The tips of the feet are tinged with cranberry and the prunt is nearly all red. This is a magnificent example of an extremely rare form with the deep ruby/mahogany color extending halfway down the body to a clear butter yellow. The overall shape is highly refined. Among the most desirable forms produced by Hobbs, Bruckner & Co. This Wheeling peachblow decanter is at the top of the list! Of superb, strong color, the applied amber twisted rope handle is so sharp as to feel "cut". The amber lapidary-cut stopper is a "jewel". Grover shows an example in acid finish, plate #81. The base has the usual chips. The vase is superbly colored. The mahogany/ruby of the upper portion giving way to clear butter yellow at the lower third. This is a nice example! The stand has only the tiniest flake at the ear of one griffin; overall color and condition are the best. This vase also comes with a pedigree of descent since 1945 when it was presented to the president of the Atlas Hazel Glass Co. in Wheeling, West Virginia. Extremely rare New England Amberina optic ribbed basket with quatrefoil handle surmounted by a ruby "ring" connected with an amber wafer. The coloration is superb; the deep ruby giving was to dark, richer amber. This ranks highly among the rarest forms made by Locke. There is a tiny fracture beneath one of the "wishbones" just below the rim. This basket was sold in these salesrooms in 1997. Pictured in the Locke sketchbook, picture 4- bottom right. New England Amberina D.Q. rose bowl with flared ruffled rim and applied amber rigaree around the neck. The sides are dimpled and give a slightly squared effect. This is the largest size in which this form was produced. This is an exceptional example with deep fuschia coloring – the color so intense as to make the amber trim appear fuschia. The line is definitely in the surface of the glass and does not extend through the foot. This beautiful stemmed fruit bowl with a beautiful cased pink interior and exterior of milk glass entirely hand made with a ruffled top edge and supported on a hand made turn shaft and round disc shaped base. This beautiful hand made 19th Century bowl carries an interesting note on the bottom which reads as follows "This belonged to my grandmother Charity Eddie Jones Smith" CMB". My grandmothers father (Barbara’s great-great grandfather) had this made. He had five dollars worth of gold put in to make this color pink. SIZE: 7" tall by 9" in diameter. The bowl together with six matching glasses are all engraved with the letter W. SIZE: The size of the bowl is 9" in diameter 10" tall.
